Cell (1,1) -> Row 1, Column 1 is the
vehicle class, default is
ALL; if left blank, it will treated as ALL,
not required, must be single value if fill in any value
Cell (1,2) -> Row 1, Column 2 is the
favored link types (behavior types) for input vehicle class, could be multiple,
separated by dash like 4-5-6,
not required, default is
blankCell (2,1) -> Row 2, Column 1 is the
start and end seconds, separated by dash like 0-5400,
not required, default is
blank, treated as single time period 0 - 99999
Cell (2,2) -> Row 2, Column 2 is the
dis-favored or penalized link types (behavior types) for input vehicle class, could be
multiple, separated by dash like 1-2-3,
not required, default is
blank
The rest of

VISSIM Link IDs, First Row is Destination Zone Links, First
Column is
Origin Zone Links
The rest of
Row 2 and Column 2 Cells are Zone IDs, used as Route Names when
create static routings
The content of Matrix is the volume fractions for each OD Pairs
In order to let General Purpose (GP) vehicles stay on GP links (vice versa, HOV
vehicles use HOV links preferably), the parameters
of Path Building are used to increase(decrease) each link’s actual distance.
For example, when building GP path using favored link types 1-2-3 and dis-favored link types
4-5-6, GP link types 1, 2, 3 will be more
attractive (70% & 85% of original length depending on setting) and non GP link types 4, 5, 6
will be more unattractive (300% &
310%
of original length depending on setting), thus GP vehicles will prefer GP link types 1,2,3 and
and
avoid other link types 4, 5, 6.
If you penalize HOV link types 4, 5, 6 by increase penalty of dis-favored link types to 2000%
(20 times of original length), GP
vehicles will probably never use HOV links unless there is no other path available to reach
destination.
Usually default parameters are good enough, but for a big size network, you might not be able to
easily pick parameters to satisfy all your requirement.
You can always do Route Replacement for undesirable path after loading. It's important to check
and QA/QC routes generated.
It's worth noting here that penalized link types do not mean they will not be used at all, if
there is only path available to reach destination they will be used.
If you want to completely turn off certain links, you can import Link Closures.
Copy all content to a text file in Notepad,
preferably direct Copy Paste, you can use Excel Export/Save As too
